This travel map is not a scoreboard of how many places I have visited, but an index to help you find cities and stories more easily.
All the content on this site comes from years of travelling and first-hand experience. You can use this list to see, at a glance, where I have been in different countries, and then dive into the related practical guides and cultural features.
So far, I have collected travel footprints in more than 170 towns and cities. Over time, I will continue to add city guides, in-depth attraction breakdowns and cultural observations, so that every point on the map is eventually backed by a clear, well-explained article.
Whether you are planning your next trip or simply want a more structured way to understand a particular city, I hope this travel map can serve as a useful starting point for your search.
Travel Map
Below is my travel map: the “orange house” marks the cities where I have lived long term (Hong Kong, London and Liverpool), the “blue car” marks road-trip routes, and the rest are city stops from my travels.
Hong Kong | Where I Start Seeing the World
Hong Kong will always be my home, and the place where I first learnt to see the world. In recent years, many people have asked: “Is Hong Kong still worth visiting?”
The answer is straightforward: it is. More than that, it is a city every traveller should experience at least once in their lifetime.
Hong Kong is far more than a row of skyscrapers and a “world-class night view”. From the Peak Tram and the racial and class history behind it, the fare structure and business logic of the Star Ferry, and the colonial and capitalist traces written into the streets of Central and Sheung Wan, to the stilt houses of Tai O, the remnants of Kowloon Walled City, the reservoirs in the countryside, and the “imagined old Hong Kong” created by qipao rentals and local film locations, they are all different faces of the same city.
Here, I look at Hong Kong through the lenses of history, culture and institutional structures, while still keeping enough practical information so that you can enjoy exploring at an easy pace and, at the same time, genuinely understand the place you are walking through.
UK | My Reference Point for the World
The United Kingdom is where I have been living and working in recent years, and also the place I have spent the most years travelling. I first lived in London, then moved to Liverpool, and have experienced first-hand the very different rhythms, industrial structures and urban cultures of the north and south of England.
Over the years, I have gradually expanded my travels from major cities to coastal towns, historic centres, national parks and inland regions, building up a relatively complete “felt sense” of the UK.
Below is a map of the places I have actually visited in the UK. Related articles will be added and updated over time. If you like the way I look at the UK, feel free to check back occasionally and help me slowly fill in this map.

- More content will gradually be added, including itineraries designed for different travel companions and areas, in-depth breakdowns of classic landmarks and museums, markets and parks that Londoners visit in their daily lives, as well as articles on performing arts and sports culture, so you can explore London by theme and at your own pace.

Other Parts of the United Kingdom
Beyond London and Liverpool, I have actually travelled through a wide range of cities, coastal towns and historic sites across the UK, extending all the way to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Next, I will focus on organising a few of the most representative regions and themes, such as:
- The Thousand-Year-Old City of York and Its Surroundings
- The South-West Coast of England (Cornwall & Devon)
- England’s Lake District and Peak District
- Scottish Cities and Highland Routes
- The Coasts and National Parks of Wales
- The Coastal Scenery and Industrial Cities of Northern Ireland
For the many other towns marked on the interactive map, if there is a place you are particularly curious about, feel free to let me know on Instagram and I will consider giving it higher priority in future updates.
Europe | Proof That There Are Many Ways of Life
Europe is the region I travel to most often from the UK, and it is also where “city comparison” makes the most sense as a way of understanding a place. Different countries have very different urban densities, historical layers and ways of life, and even within a single country, the rhythm and cultural logic can vary completely from one city to another.
I try to visit several cities in each country to build a more complete, first-hand sense of the place. The list below is organised by country so you can find what you need quickly. Most of these articles are already published, and new pieces will be added and updated as I continue to travel.

Other European Countries
Asia | Where I First Realised How Big the World Is
Asia is where I first truly realised how big the world is. It holds my earliest travel memories and is where I began to notice the differences between cultures, cities and ways of life.
For future Asia content, I will focus on history and context, rather than simply “where to take photos”. Below are the directions I will prioritise.
Japan
Japan is one of the countries in Asia I return to most often. Future articles will be organised into three parts:
- Kansai Parent-Friendly Series
- Kanto & Areas Around Mount Fuji
- San’in & San’yō
Taiwan
Like Japan, Taiwan is somewhere I have visited many times. I will gradually add content on museums, mountain-and-sea routes, offshore islands and small towns.
I hope readers from the UK and across Europe and North America can use this section as a starting point for getting to know Asia, and that readers in Taiwan can, through my perspective as a traveller, see another side of Taiwan.
Other Asian Countries
Beyond Japan and Taiwan, I have also travelled and stayed in other parts of Asia, including:
Myanmar|Cambodia|South Korea|Singapore|Malaysia|Thailand|Vietnam|China
I will pick the topics with the richest cultural layers, clearest urban context or most vivid travel experiences and turn them into standalone articles.
Oceania | A Testing Ground for Patience with Scenery
Australia
So far I have visited Sydney, Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road and Tasmania. Next, I will prioritise:
- Great Ocean Road Self-Drive Guide
- Phillip Island Penguin Watching & Glamping
- Tasmania Round-Island Itinerary
- Blue Mountains & Hunter Valley Routes from Sydney
Africa | A Different Set of World Maps
Morocco
The cities and natural landscapes of Morocco each have their own very strong rhythm and character. I will first focus on:
- The Old Town and Souks of Marrakech
- Group Tours to the Sahara Desert
- Fes and the Blue Town of Chefchaouen
- Coastal Cities Such As Rabat and Casablanca
